SUNRISE MEDICAL LABORATORIES NAMED ONE OF LONG ISLAND'S 25 FASTEST GROWING COMPANIES

Laboratory Recognized for Fifth Time. Also Named One of "Top 50 Private Firms" for Third Time

Hauppauge, NY, September 22, 2003 —Sunrise Medical Laboratories is pleased to announce that it has again been named one of Long Island's "25 Fastest-Growing" private firms. Sunrise was also, for the third time, named one of Long Island’s “Top 50 Largest” private firms in the 2003. KPMG LLP, Hofstra University and Long Island Business News sponsor the annual Long Island Entrepreneurial Spirit Awards.  This is the fifth time Sunrise has received the “25 Fastest-Growing” award, which is based on a company's revenue growth over the previous year. Because of the nature of the award it is unusual for a company to receive it multiple years.

"Sunrise is the leading regional laboratory in New York because of its commitment to high quality and innovative technologies” said Larry Siedlick, CEO of Sunrise Medical Laboratories.  "Physicians and patients value the professional expertise of Sunrise's staff.”

This is the 17th year for the awards, which have saluted hundreds of successful companies whose common traits of "commitment, innovation and leadership" have made them business leaders. Sunrise will be honored on October 21st at the Salute to Long Island’s Entrepreneurial Spirit Awards at Crest Hollow Country Club where New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi will be the keynote speaker.

Founded in 1972, Sunrise Medical Laboratories is the leading regional provider of diagnostic lab services for physicians, hospitals and clinical laboratories, offering advanced biomedical testing services that support the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases.  Sunrise is the industry leader in electronic reporting and laboratory-physician computer links with its trademarked SunData xT™ System, supplying a direct computer link between the lab and the various clinical settings where patients are seen.
